MAN ARRESTED FOR MULTIPLE OFFENCES

#ARREST | We have arrested a male for multiple offences following an incident in Tamworth yesterday afternoon.

On Monday 19th October at around 1.10pm officers were deployed to Tamworth Town Centre following sightings of a wanted male.

The male had made his way to Ladybridge where he proceeded to climb on to the wrong side of the bridge over the River Tame. Eventually, officers were able to bring the male to safety. In doing so, three officers were assaulted.

Thankfully, no-one was injured.

The 36-year-old male, from Tamworth, was arrested for assaulting an emergency worker, theft, breach of court bail and failure to appear at court.

He remains in custody at this time.
